helping large corporations innovate like startups

Onova is a consultancy based in Toronto, Canada with a mission to drive innovation in large companies. As the sole Graphic Designer, I spearheaded design for both internal projects and design campaigns for our clients' internal hackathons. Full articles on the process and results for the redesign can be found below.

03 | CREATING VISUAL IDENTITY

colour

The new colour palette provides a professional look and consists of one primary and secondary colour alongside black and white. This starting palette allows room for growth in the colour branding.

The mint green is associated with descriptions such as growth, energizing, and vibrant to reflect the work culture and mission. The dark blue compliments this with associations of reliability and strength for our clients.

logo

Inspired by iconic tools for brainstorming, the logo is composed of two sticky notes with their "heads" facing each other representing innovation and collaboration.

04 | WEBSITE REDESIGN

revamping the website

In addition to its core services, Onova expanded its work to include a venture studio and an online hub of insights and free resources. With these introductions, I aligned the new brand to create a website that showcases all of their work with respect to the target audience.

08 | KEY LEARNINGS

articulating design process concisely

Many of the stakeholders were business executives who may not have an eye or experience in design. So it was important that I explained my design process clearly in a structured manner and highlighted the takeaways to make sure that they followed along.

design is an iterative process

Through the ideation process, I went through numerous design iterations for the elements, like a banner, after receiving continuous feedback from my team and the clients. I learned to not get too personally attached to my work and grow from the process of improving and iterating.
